Brian MacInnes is the CFO at Bonfire Ventures with a decade of private equity experience, a background in finance roles including Deloitte and TrueCar's IPO, and a passion for helping portfolio companies implement best practices, while living in Los Angeles with his family and enjoying sports and golf.
About Brian
Brian MacInnes is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Bonfire Ventures. He enjoys fixing things, whether it's a house project or a multi-billion dollar company, which led him to a career in private equity over the past decade. In venture capital, he appreciates the opportunity to work with portfolio companies early on and help implement best practices from the beginning to set them up for success.
Brian has held a variety of finance roles in Los Angeles after graduating from UC Santa Barbara. He began his career at Deloitte as an Audit Manager in the Technology, Manufacturing, and Telecommunications (TMT) group. He then assisted several later-stage startups in Los Angeles, most notably TrueCar, where he played a key role in the company’s IPO filing.
For much of the last decade, Brian worked at Evolution Media Capital, a private equity fund formed in partnership between TPG Growth Capital and Creative Artists Agency (CAA), and at Platinum Equity. At both funds, he worked closely with portfolio companies to implement best practices in finance and operations.
Brian is a licensed CPA in the State of California (Inactive).
He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Jesse and their three young boys. When not coaching his kids in soccer or other sports, he enjoys working on his golf game.
