Career Background
Jason's career has provided him with perspective across multiple environments within the technology landscape.
After graduate school, he began working in a university research environment, gaining exposure to cutting-edge work in robotics, medicine, and computer vision. This early experience with breakthrough innovation inspired his career goal: backing founders who are pushing the world forward.
He then joined MicroVentures, a fintech startup focused on making private market investing more accessible. This was his first hands-on experience in the startup world, where he developed his operating skills and a fascination with venture capital.
For the past three years, Jason has worked closely with seed-stage founders across vertical SaaS, commerce, GTM tech, enterprise hardware, and more. These partnerships have deepened his appreciation for early-stage building and the relentless founders who drive innovation. He is excited to continue this work at Bonfire Ventures.
Jason holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Duke University and now resides in Los Angeles. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active, reading, and cheering on his favorite teams. Earlier in life, he was a competitive tennis player, with wins over opponents who later became Grand Slam champions and Olympic medalists.
